Hamburg - The City on the river Elbe

The city centre as well as most of the city is north of the river Elbe. The Alster is an affluent of the Elbe and forms a beautiful lake in the heart of the city. The lake is divided into the parts Binnen- and Außenalster. Surrounding the Binnenalster (Inner Alster) there is a variety of shopping possibilities. The Außenalster (Outer Alster) and its green areas invite you to relax. Especially in summer you find many people taking a stroll and enjoying nature.
